 Indian weddings are full of entertainment and joy as there are multiple wedding games that are played to break the shyness between the bride and the groom as well as between the families of both sides. Games in Indian wedding are played to make the couple open to each other. Indian wedding games create joyful atmosphere and happiness and bring about the feeling of openness and comfortability between the families of both the bride and the groom. It is therefore has special purpose and importance as they keeps the bride and groom refreshed throughout the marriage ceremony. Following are some important Indian wedding games apart from mockery and sharing jokes which too an integral part of Indian wedding games.

1.      Juta Chupai (Hiding shoes of groom): It is one of the interesting Indian wedding games and takes place when the groom and his relatives and friends seated on the wedding mandap and remove his shoes. The sisters of the bride steal the shoes and hide them. They don’t give the shoes back to the groom until he agrees to pay some money in return. Negotiation takes place between them and it is only after he pays money to the sisters, he gets his shoes back. Both the families take part in this game and it creates an entertaining atmosphere.

2.      Fish the Ring Game:  In this sort of Indian wedding game, the bowl of milk covered with rose petals is placed and the couple is asked to put their wedding rings inside the bowl. It is after that, they both asked to fish out the ring and whosoever fish out the ring first is considered to be dominant throughout their married life.

3.      Pillow Game: Pillow game is played to know how much compatible the couples are. In this game the pillow is placed between the shoulders of the bride and the groom and they asked to sit with their back facing each other so that they can’t see each other. Then, the friends and the relatives of both ask simple questions about their likes and dislikes and they have to answer by simply nodding their heads in “Yes or no”.  Then they get score accordingly.
